Who we are

EuroRoadRules is an independent information site. For privacy questions, please use the contact form.

What data

Only what you enter in the contact form yourself: name, organisation (optional), email address, subject, country and your message.

Number plate lookup

If you enter a Dutch number plate, your browser fetches the vehicle data directly from RDW open data. The plate never reaches us and is not stored.

Why

Solely to reply to your message and, for public bodies, to handle the cooperation. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and (f)).

Retention

We keep messages for no more than 12 months after the last reply, unless a legal retention duty (for example for invoices) is longer.

Processors

The site and form are hosted by Netlify. Netlify also processes data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We never sell or share your data.

Cookies and tracking

We use no tracking cookies, ad networks or third-party analytics. Your browser only stores your language and route locally (localStorage); this never leaves your device. Fonts are served from our own server.

Your rights

You may access, correct or delete your data and object to its use. Send a request via the contact form. You can also complain to a data protection authority.

Security

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS with HSTS) and the site loads no third-party scripts.
