Basic rules
- Annual vignette only: even one transit day costs CHF 40. Valid 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2027. The 2027 vignette goes on sale on 1 December 2026.
- A trailer or caravan needs its own vignette.
- Without one: CHF 200 fine plus the vignette. The Gotthard tunnel is free.

Watch out
- Fines are steep: 20 km/h over costs CHF 180 on motorways and CHF 240 outside towns; in towns you are reported. Extreme speeding can mean prison.
- Lights by day are compulsory.

- Truck driving ban (> 3,5 t): All day on Sundays and public holidays, and every night 22–5 h.

Customs and border
Passar: since 1 January 2026 exports run only through Passar; e-dec Export and NCTS are switched off. Transit moved in 2024.
