- Driving into central Athens on a weekday? Check your plate's last digit first (daktylios).
- Speeding fines are steep since 2026: from €150, and a licence suspension for more than 30 km/h over.
Truck (over 3.5 t)
- Diodia · – · e-pass / EETS
- Truck driving ban (> 3,5 t): Ban on set motorway and national road sections at major holiday peaks (e.g. 14–16 August). The traffic police announce the times each time.
One toll box for the whole route: an EETS provider covers several countries with one device, for example: DKV BOX EUROPE, UTA One, Eurowag (W.A.G. payment), AS 24, Telepass EU, Toll4Europe.
